Brian was an invaluable teammate, not because of any record-breaking performances, but because of his contagious laughter and his love of being a ‘teammate.’  On the varsity hockey team Brian’s place wasn’t in the starting line, but on the bench, in the locker room, and in practice, keeping his team working hard and most importantly, laughing. Whether at the Aiken’s or the Kane’s, Brian was always on the wiffleball field doing his best to help us laugh, win or lose.  It is in that spirit that only a wiffleball tournament could honor Brian appropriately.

Each year, those of us that knew Brian well, gather together at the commencement of summer to organize an event uniquely in his memory.  Unlike golf tournaments with $500 foursomes, the BK Wiffleball Tournament has been able to raise money through the continued participation of those that knew Brian best.  To date, the Brian Kane Scholarship Fund has handed out $22,000 in scholarship money to eleven well deserving GDRHS graduates attending four-year colleges.

For the first time, we purchased and donated an Automatic External Defibrillator (AED) to the Groton-Dunstable School District.  We look forward to providing AEDs to other school districts throughout Massachusetts!

We look forward to seeing you again this year.

Sincerely,
The Kane Family
