The BK Memorial Wiffleball Tournament is an annual event held here in Groton, MA. to raise money for a scholarship in Brian Kane's name. In his senior year in high school my brother Brian was killed in a car accident and we decided to establish a scholarship in his name. Each year it is awarded to a graduating senior from here in Groton that is planning to attend a four-year college. The first two scholarships have gone to his best friend, Peter Black in 1999, and to a member of his hockey team, Rick "Whitey" Fredrickson in 2000.

So far, we’ve awarded $12,000! Click to see a list of recipients.

Through the use of the tournament we hope to do more than raise money for his scholarship, as we could do that with much easier and more lucrative fundraisers. Instead we hope to keep the memory of him alive in one of his favorite games, wiffleball. It has always been a passion in our family, and we know it is in yours' as well.

This year promises to be first and foremost a terrific time, but you better bring your game faces. Last year was a huge success and we are looking forward to Many more in the near future.
